Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today.

In February 2022, I was in a dialog about a new and exciting job at Leneo as a finance manager. While the dialog was going on, one morning the pregnancy test showed two lines – I was pregnant. Should I tell them about the pregnancy and risk them not hiring me? Or be honest about the pregnancy? I chose to be honest to which the response was; “It doesn’t matter to us as a company, we are investing in the long term and we want you”. All my concerns were put to rest – and the job change became a reality, where trust and understanding became the key words in the new relationship. I have just returned to work full-time after maternity leave, which feels really nice. I can only recommend being honest and vulnerable about your life situation if it is of importance to the employer – this applies both in a job change but also in a current job.
