I grew up in Southern Jutland and spent most of my youth playing the piano and thought I was going to follow the path of music, but when an engineering program called ‘design & innovation’ came along, I started there instead and became super happy working with product development. I supplemented the engineering program with an HD in accounting at CBS. After a few years as a product developer, I took on more strategic roles and became a manager. In 2015, we established an innovation lab at LEO Pharma, which I was part of from the start and later became CEO. In parallel with developing digital health solutions for people with skin problems, I took responsibility for the investment portfolio and became CEO of the company LEO Ventures, which invested in 10 exciting start-up companies with a total portfolio value of DKK 500 million. Today, I work at Novo Nordisk and am responsible for how we engage patients living with obesity and how we develop new business models and use technology in a smart way to help more people live a healthier life with their weight in the future. I live in Dragør, Denmark, with my husband, our two boys and a crazy but cute dog. With this project, I hope to inspire more young women to educate themselves in medicine and technology, as there are far too many people on our planet who do not get the medicine, treatment or care they deserve.
