“I will find my way.”
Let the image shift. Stay with the words. What changes in your reading?
In 2016 I crashed. I collapsed 50 meters from my home in a wild anxiety attack. I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t talk. But I realised that something needed to happen. So I quit my studies and disappeared from the University. I stuck to my full-time job as an IT Project Manager. It gave me the structure and commitment to others that I needed, so that I could work on finding myself. It is a journey I am still on -but I now have extra tools and a different understanding of myself as I earlier this year, got the diagnoses ADHD & Autism. I now understand that I was never meant to be like everybody else -I am me. A unique person with a place in this world. My different ways of thinking is what makes me a great Project Manager, and it is what got me an extra job as a part-time researcher into neurodiversity & DEI. I will find my way, and I will share my story. Because I matter. And so do you!
