I am driven by challenges. My mantra is that if I’m presented with a challenge, I say yes – even if deep down I’m not sure if I can do it. I’ve changed career paths several times before I landed on the right shelf. In my late 30s, I started studying law alongside my work and now I’m approaching my thesis. I’m asked what I’m going to do with it? And the answer is the same as I do today. Because the knowledge I’ve gained over the years is something I use every day. It’s not the goal in itself to get the final certificate, it’s the process of gaining more knowledge each semester that gives me more power in my job and my everyday life. I get energy from filling my head with new knowledge and becoming stronger in my field. Of course, it has been hard at times, but I’m also proud that I haven’t given up. My husband of 25 years has always been an invaluable support. He has always cheered me on and never held me back. When I’ve been drowning in exams and work assignments, he’s been the one who has made sure that our family’s everyday life has stayed together. I know he’s proud of me and that’s just as much my driving force. I believe that if you don’t develop, you’ll wind down. Some would consider it power, some wouldn’t. At the end of the day, it’s not about what others think. You choose your power mindset when you get up in the morning. It’s important to dream and do what you want to do with your life, otherwise you wither.
