Words possess tremendous power, often more than we recognize. Every thought, conversation, and story starts with words. Consider the words that come to mind when thinking about women. The words we opt for when discussing women. How we, as women, describe ourselves and other women around us. Are the terms you use for women and men the same? Do we characterize both genders with descriptors like angry, hysterical, ambitious, emotional, powerful?Recognizing the importance of our word choices is essential. Our manner of speaking reflects our thoughts, and our thoughts influence our actions. Words, once uttered or penned, create waves. They influence how people see things, guide actions, and, on a broader scale, can reshape communities and even entire societies. Hence, it’s vital to be precise and thoughtful withyour words. Start practicing today. Now. Choose your words wisely, think about what they mean, and if necessary, take the time to alter and improve them. Because in making those changes, you could very well change the world
