“After all, the legacy we leave behind comes not from what we are but who we are and how we chose to navigate in life.”

We all come with our own version of power -It can be loud, quiet, or maybe even invisible to the surroundings. For me, it is very much about the ability to stay true to who we are as individuals -not what or how others would like you and me to be. Regardless of how we define ourselves, whether we make a ton of money or receive one million likes on social media, power still lays within the core of who we really are. At some point, most of us encounter some hard curveballs in life and are faced with hurdles which can seem and maybe are, impossible to tackle; The gift of power can show itself when our fellow human beings act out of kindness and help carrying our burdens. I believe that none of us can do everything on our own and having the power to ask for help, paves the way for even more power. Following a personal tragedy, it has become abundantly clear to me how dependent I am of having solid and close relations in my life and I am very aware that not everyone is as fortunate. A few simple actions demonstrate the foundation of power; be kind and respect people and their individual boundaries –we are all from the same planet and need to live, grow, and thrive side by side. Let us move away from stereotypes and specified definitions such as Power-Women andinstead move towards Power-PEOPLE. After all, the legacy we leave behind comes not from what we are but who we are and how we chose to navigate in life.
