“The role as a mother has sharpened how effective I am. I'm still experimenting with whether the role is compatible with being a CEO. Maybe it's not just me that needs to change, but the role of CEO needs to change as well.”

In the very early days of my career, I was very focused on being successful. In retrospect, in a slightly unhealthy way. I had a very steep learning curve, but also had some personal failures along the way that have shaped me as a person. When I became a mother for the first time, I added a new layer to my persona. Being a success was redefined. From a focus on being a success at work to also having to be something in a completely different form in my personal life. I started asking myself if being an attentive mother was at all compatible with being ambitious on the career front, as so many have probably asked themselves before me. Honestly, I don’t have the answer, nor do I know if there is a right and wrong here.
