I am the daughter of a sailor who in the 60s passed by the Philippines on a Maersk ship and brought a maiden back to Denmark. I grew up in two different cultures and feel that I have gotten the best of both worlds. Growing up, I often thought that disagreements and conflicts were due to culture, customs and manners, but I have since learned that we all have a common denominator either as a mother, friend, colleague and that we all smile in the same language. And with that realization and attitude, you can go a long way in expanding your own horizons and knowledge of the world.
