Lay like a turtle on its shell. Upper lip hooked on her front teeth. Fingers frozen in a crow’s feet-like spasm. Eyes rolling around uncontrollably. I was hyperventilating and couldn’t remember half of the 17 km bike ride home from the office – but it had been quick. On the table was the laptop. The resignation letter had been sent. There was a drop that had caused the cup to overflow. It had probably been under surface tension for a number of years. The time afterwards was spent recovering mentally. It took a long time. It has become very clear to me how I want to live my life. I’m the one behind the wheel and in control. I say yes and I say no. I believe in jumping around from shelf to shelf – “the right shelf” is an outdated concept. Or at least “the right shelf” transforms over time. For me, it’s important, strong and brave to dare to be vulnerable and reach out for help. Take care of yourself. Break taboos. Put yourself in the driver’s seat of your life!
