We now know that diversity gives us far better companies, quality and attraction. But why is it still so difficult in practice that we e.g. Need a project about Powerwomen? Do we have a disadvantage in not sufficiently daring to take chances, believing that we can without being 100% sure and daring to draw attention to what we can and want? Then the advantage probably goes to others. “Think like a man” is well-intentioned advice that I have received several times – I find it incredibly difficult! My biggest challenge is to avoid the temptation to try to “fit in” – it’s like playing on a clear away field. I will have to remember myself, to play on my “home ground”, where I know I am good, find my inner superpowers – rely on exactly my experiences and skills, and not least be brave enough to say it out loud, and clearly dared to contribute with a difference that would like to make us stronger together. So for all groups that are underrepresented; maybe we can be a little braver and make our voices a little louder and a little clearer – and proudly stand by the differences we bring to the table. – And perhaps we can all take steps to cultivate a culture where we are genuinely curious about, challenge and, not least, actively seek differences, which together make us so much better!
